Family trips are very important. Taking excursions with our children gives us the opportunity to be part of their first experiences and see how they adapt to new environments. These memories will stay in their minds and make their childhood a beautiful stage. Additionally, taking a road trip with the family is a great idea that allows us to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy our free time together. But, what are the best places to go with kids? Where should we go? Will there be activities for them? Will they be age-appropriate? Will they have fun? We suggest 10 wonderful places to visit with kids before they turn 10.

1. Gulliver Park and Bioparc (Valencia)

Without a doubt, the Gulliver Park is ideal. The figure of the giant lying on the ground, restrained with ropes, becomes fun slides and ramps for a great day out. Entrance is free, but be sure to check the hours before going.

The Bioparc is a very large outdoor space where hundreds of animal species live in semi-freedom. There are numerous activities designed for children. Greeting the lemurs or the giraffes, watching the elephants eat, or attending the educational bird and mammal exhibition 'The Cycle of Life' are just a few of the things you can do.

Admission is free for children under 4 years old. For ages 4 to 12, it costs between 22.60 and 24.20 euros, depending on the time of year. For ages 13 and up, it ranges from 28.90 to 30.90 euros.

2. Dinópolis (Teruel)

The best places to visit with kids are those that combine fun, learning, and adventure. Dinópolis, the dinosaur theme park, will not leave anyone indifferent. Located in Aragón, it combines entertainment and science through a journey of 4.5 billion years in which you will discover how these fascinating beings lived and became extinct.

Recently, it has incorporated a lot of new content, such as 'Jurassic Sea', a themed journey that allows visitors to immerse themselves in time and space in the depths of the Earth. The Volcano Room, the Aquarium Room, and the Coast-River will also capture your children's attention. Not to mention an articulated dinosaur nearly 4 meters long and 2 meters high.

Dinópolis, whose main park is in Teruel, also has several exhibitions spread across seven towns in the province. Admission is free for children under 3 years old, while child tickets cost 26 euros up to 12 years, and the adult fee is 33 euros.

3. Oasys Theme Park (Almería)

Also known as 'Mini Hollywood', the Oasys Park is located in the Tabernas desert (Almería), and is based on the sets of the old American western films shot in the 60s and 70s.

It's a perfect activity if you don't know what to do with the kids. There are daily cowboy shows and can-can dances. Additionally, there is a zoo reserve with big cats, birds, and some exotic species, as well as two swimming pools. The standard entry fee for adults 12 and over is 26 euros, while the children's ticket from 4 years is 16 euros.

4. Alcázar of Segovia

Another of our suggested places to visit with kids is the Alcázar of Segovia. The image of this unique palace, situated between the valleys of Eresma and Clamores, seems to guard the city. Some say its silhouette inspired the castle in Snow White.

The fortress is a very important part of this Castilian city, chosen as the residence by many monarchs from the Trastámara dynasty. It is a symbol of Spanish art and history.

You can purchase your tickets right there for 10 and 8 euros for adults and minors up to 16 years, respectively. The pass allows you to visit the Palace rooms, learn about the Artillery Museum, and enjoy majestic views of the city from the Tower of Juan II. Access to this tower requires climbing 152 steps on a spiral staircase. It is a narrow and difficult staircase, so children must always be accompanied.

5. The Enchanted City (Cuenca)

Situated in the heart of the Cuenca mountain range and surrounded by pine forests, the Enchanted City is one of the most stunning places in this town, declared a Natural Site of National Interest in 2009.

Its origin dates back 90 million years, when this area was part of the seabed of Thetis. By the end of the Cretaceous Period, the ocean receded and the seabed rose to the surface. The action of water, wind, and ice has allowed us to enjoy this marvelous geological phenomenon today.

The visit consists of a path of approximately three kilometers, well marked. We advise you to follow the signs and stay on the indicated path. Children under 7 enter for free; from that age, the cost is 5 euros for children up to 12, and it's 6 euros thereafter.

6. Micrópolix (Madrid)

It is a city designed for children, located in a covered area of 12,000 square meters in San Sebastián de los Reyes.

In this activity, they will learn to value and understand work while enjoying more than thirty themed spaces for this purpose. The only citizens will be your children, who will be responsible for making everything work properly. To enjoy leisure activities, they must earn Eurix, the official currency of the place.

In Micrópolix, they will become firefighters, journalists, musicians, architects, or doctors, among many other professions, and they can even get a driving license. They will become adults for a day and experience different activities designed just for them. The price of admission varies depending on the day of the visit, ranging from 13 to 20 euros, also depending on age.

Traveling with kids can be a lot of fun and a must-do is a trip to Segovia. Along with the carrier Claudio, you will get to know this town like never before.

This fun character will guide you through the corners of the city sharing legends, anecdotes, and popular games. The visit begins at the Aqueduct of Segovia, but you will also discover other places such as San Martín Square and, near the Main Square, witness the coronation of Isabella I of Castile.

This pleasant and dynamic tour costs 13 euros for adults and 11 euros for your children aged 5 to 12. This ticket includes access to the Royal Mint.

8. The National Archaeological Museum (Madrid)

A visit to the National Archaeological Museum (MAN) can be a wonderful experience for children. In addition to a journey from Prehistory to Ancient Greece, you can participate in family activities such as open workshops, always accompanied by a monitor. There are also self-guided visits and storytelling sessions.

The museum also has a specific area for play. Here, you can enjoy 'Play History', 'Trivia in the Museum', or 'Game jam online', where it's possible to create a video game in just one weekend.

The general admission costs only 3 euros, and if you go on weekends, it is free on Saturdays from 2:00 PM and on Sunday mornings.

9. Eureka Science Museum (San Sebastián)

Located in Miramón (San Sebastián), in a privileged natural setting, Eureka! is an interactive museum where learning takes place through experiments and handling objects. It is a science dissemination center adapted for all ages. It offers a permanent exhibition and a 3D Planetarium that helps in a playful way to understand astronomy, although it is not recommended for children under 3 years old.

This is not an ordinary museum, as it has a section called Animalia, where children will learn the importance of caring for and preserving natural spaces. During guided visits, a specialized monitor will show you the four ecosystems. You can even touch the most harmless animals. General admission costs 10 euros. For children aged 4 to 7, it is 7 euros.

10. Arán Park (Lleida)

Discovering places to visit with kids in nature is always a surefire option. Leaving the big city and breathing fresh air is a luxury we should allow ourselves more often.

The Arán Park, located in the heart of the Pyrenees, is covered with forests of wild pines and firs. An ideal area for walking and exploring this wonderful natural environment. It has a diverse fauna that includes everything from bears to lynxes, otters, wolves, and large deer.

The tour lasts approximately two hours, and the paved ground allows families with strollers to enter. Halfway through, there is a picnic area where you can eat and enjoy together at the mini farm with domestic animals. The entry fee is 16 euros for adults and 12 euros for minors.
